Light, considered within the millwork.
Lighting can bring useful task illumination and quiet emphasis to shelving and cabinetry. Where included, the millwork is planned around the channels, wiring routes, power supplies and the selected light system.
Where light belongs
Under-cabinet task lighting, shelf lighting and display lighting serve different purposes. Position the light in relation to the task or object, not simply wherever a strip will fit.
- Under-cabinet work surfaces
- Shelves and display cabinets
- Selected architectural reveals
- Warm-white lighting directions
Channels and diffusion
LED strips, recessed channels and diffusers can create a more integrated appearance. The cabinetry must allow the required dimensions, heat management and service access for the selected products.
- Recessed channel dimensions
- Diffusers and light distribution
- Concealed cable routing
- Product-specific installation guidance
Controls and power supplies
Dimming is available only with compatible components. Drivers and power-supply locations should remain accessible and coordinate with the room’s electrical planning.
- Driver and supply location
- Dimming compatibility
- Switching and control requirements
- Access for adjustment and replacement
A coordinated scope
Lighting is not automatically included in every project. Timberry can plan the cabinetry and millwork for the agreed integration, with required electrical work addressed by appropriately qualified trades.
- Specified lighting components
- Defined supply and installation responsibilities
- Electrical trade coordination
- Approved locations before manufacture

Explore the complete approach ↗Before we begin.
Is lighting included in every project?
No. Lighting and its supply and installation arrangements must be identified in the agreed scope.
Can integrated lighting be dimmed?
Dimming depends on compatibility between the light source, driver and control system.
Can wiring be hidden?
Suitable routes can be planned where feasible, while retaining necessary access and meeting installation requirements.
Who completes the electrical work?
Required electrical work must be addressed by appropriately qualified trades, with responsibilities confirmed for the project.
